In partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Avohealth participated in the End-of-Round Programmatic Assessment of the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) campaign in Adamawa and Niger States. The SMC campaign is a critical malaria prevention strategy aimed at protecting children under five during peak transmission periods by administering preventive antimalarial drugs.
Our role focused on providing independent programmatic assessment to evaluate campaign performance, identify implementation gaps, and recommend actionable strategies for improved efficiency in subsequent rounds. This involved engaging with state and local health teams, reviewing data quality, assessing logistics, and conducting field visits to ensure that coverage targets were met while adhering to national malaria control guidelines.
