The National Integrated Sample Referral Network (NISRN)

The National Integrated Sample Referral Network (NISRN) is a nationwide initiative designed to improve Nigeria’s laboratory systems by ensuring the timely transportation of medical samples from health facilities to testing laboratories and the prompt return of results. Funded by international partners and implemented in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria, NISRN plays a critical role in the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, and other public health priorities.

As a Third-Party Logistics Service Provider (3PLs) in nine states, AVO Health was responsible for the transportation of biological samples and results from health facilities to designated testing laboratories, and the retrieval of results back to the facilities. Our operations ensured reduced turnaround times, enhanced data flow, and improved patient outcomes through a more efficient and integrated sample referral system.

Through this work, AVO Health strengthened health supply chains, supported disease control programs, and contributed significantly to the achievement of national public health goals.
